Where Studio differs

Simulation Instrument Studio 1

These pages are Studio version 1. They do not carry version stamps from the other published instrument API. This is the only page that talks about that difference.

Version stamps

The other API marks functions by the release that added them. Studio does not. A script written to those published names can call them here. Studio is its own program.

Names that run

Images, text, node move, rotate, visible, opacity, and remove. Buttons, switches, dials, sliders. Canvas drawing. X-Plane subscribe, write, and command. FSX and MSFS subscribe and write on the shared sim bus. Timers, persistence, user properties, and the helper functions in the published list.

Names that are reserved

These accept the call and return an id. They talk to a bus, and do nothing if that bus has no device: hardware pins, Flight Illusion gauges, maps, video streams, devices, and game controllers.

Calling forms

Dataref subscribe takes one dataref, an array type, or several dataref and type pairs before the callback. The callback receives the values in that order. Write accepts the offset. The force flag is accepted in the signature and not yet applied.

Extra aliases

Studio also binds img_rotate, img_move, img_visible, and img_opacity for older instruments.
